Meunier's Daughter

Champagne Mathilde Savoye

Mathilde Savoye is a young winemaker daughter of Champagne winemakers. In 2017, in La Neuville-aux-Larris, municipality of the Vallee de la Marne, she founded her own winery (Savoye Et Filles) in her name, which she manages personally.

Mathilde mainly cultivates Meunier, the favorite vine of the area (58.6% of the total vines) which is well suited to the weather conditions of the Vallee de la Marne, where oceanic and continental influences collide, resulting in winter frosts, abundant spring rains and cool summers.

Domain

Terroir

The terroir, with a marly tendency, is characterized by silt, clay and sands that condition the character of the softer and fresher Champagne, especially suitable for balancing the cuvees.

Little appreciated the past. Meunier is experiencing a recovery in recent years and many producers, including Mathilde, choose to vinify it on their own to bring out its potential.
